An Opportunity Dashboard can distil millions of data points into succinct actionable insights, much like a picture paints a thousand words. So, what do I mean by Opportunity Quadrants?

Opportunities can relate to any area of your business where there is a mismatch between two 'elements' the company is interested to measure (e.g. promotional behaviour and sales outcomes) as shown here in this dynamic Dashboard.

Quadrants provides a visual framework to cluster results that show commonality of the two elements. This is powerfully presented as a 2 X 2 chart. Specific Descriptors of the Quadrants help end users make sense of what they are looking at (e.g. Cash Cow, Stars, Question Marks, Dogs in the BCG Matrix comparing Market Growth vs Market Share).

While the concept of data visualisation as Quadrants is not new, what is new is the power of dynamic visualisations and the ability to interrogate millions of data points that sit behind an elegant dashboard to provide interpretive language-based insights and recommendations that guide the user to what they are looking at and how to take action on the findings.
